My mind would say, "Hey, you really want to go there? What happens when you lose? Or you find out you were wrong?" I haven't had a problem with the external stigma - you know, the really religious youngsters that spout their redundancies so often you can hear them coming from a mile away. That wasn't the worry - In a way, I had to cast out what faith I had left so that I could walk a path I hadn't yet been on... and had to trust that my beliefs would be there along the way. I don't know if that makes any sense. I wonder if Jesus was making this up as he went along, too?
